Well, Sarah's first Christmas has come and gone but it was a very special day as we celebrated Jesus' birth with family & friends.
Sarah & her cousin Madi were particularly cute in their matching dresses!!!
I will try to upload pictures from the day as soon as my computer is working again but for now here is a slide show that was put together of the girls "playing" together with some new toys :D
If the link doesn't show the video please go to Mom & Dad's page - the link is to the right..

Uh oh... Here it comes again...
While I realise that I did somewhat wish the summer away whilst waiting for Sarah to arrive, I find it hard to believe that here we are, now the 29th of October with 10-15cms of the blessed white stuff everywhere once again!! Who ordered this? Don't you know its still October..?!? Although, complaining aside, it does look pretty and picturesque :D

Family Time
This past 2 weeks some of Daniel's family has been visiting with us and we have been to Montreal, the 1000 Islands, Parc Omega, downtown Ottawa, & they also went to both Niagara and Toronto.
There are lots of pictures that could be posted here but I'm really not sure which ones to pick so I have decided just to post a few that are not already on Sarah's blog page (click here).

Here is Sarah in a jacket the same as her Mommy had when she was a little baby. Sarah's new favorite jacket was knitted but my Grandma :D xxx

Overdue...
This post, much like baby girl Bentley herself, is/was overdue. I apologize for that, but it has been a busy 10 days so far! and typing with one hand whilst percariously balancing a nursing newborn is not an easy task :D
Baby girl Bentley eventually graced us with her presence 5 days past her due date on September 9th, born at 01.24am, weighed in a a very healthy 7lb 13oz.
We are doing well and are settling into a family of three nicely, to see more pictures and to get the full low down on the events of Septmber 8th/9th, please click here.

Come and gone...
Well today has come and gone (almost - 3hrs, 5 mins left!!) and there is still no sign of baby girl Bentley :(
I have to say that I am quite disapointed as even though I expected to go past my due date I was secretly hoping that she might arrive on time.
Daniel is now more than ever convinced that she is like me since she's late although I don't agree with that...!!! Anyways... so the news is, there is no news... hopefully she won't keep us waiting too much longer.. I'll try to keep this as up to date as possible from here on out..
The good news is that our new house is all cleaned and painted not only for us to move into but also for us to take our baby girl home to (when she puts in an appearance!) and for Daniel's family to come and visit at the end of September - there are no beds there yet but there will be soon I promise!!
Here are some pictures that my Mom took today of our house, well the main floor at least:
From the front door looking into the lounge - & main floor
From the stairs looking to the kitchen/dinner/lounge.

Another peek!
These are the scan pics from this morning. 36wks 4 days...
The doctor wanted me to go for the scan because I was measuring smaller than a previous week but the ultrasound technician said that she is approx 7lbs already so hopefully theres nothing to worry about at all... I'm grateful of another look at our baby girl though :D

Niagara - again...
Well.. for some of us at least! Daniel has never been to Niagara Falls before so in a last ditch to get away before piglet arrives we took a few days off work and headed west!!
We left very early Thursday morning (4.30am - also known as the middle of the night! at least unitl the baby arrives..) and we're down by the falls by about 10.30am, not too shabby timing.

After wandering around for several hours we headed back to the hotel to check in, take a nap (after the early morning) and then headed back out to find somewhere to have dinner.
On Friday morning we got up bright and early and headed to Marineland - and no-one made me sing any commercials this time.
We arrived just as they were opening up the doors, and headed off around the park. Along the way we saw bears, deer, beluga whales (including a baby beluga that was only 2 hours old!!), Killer whales, dophins, and sea lions.

On Friday afternoon we headed back to the falls and went on a big ferris wheel type thing that gave us another great view of the falls, and we also played a round of mini putt.

It was a great trip and we are glad that we were able to get away one last time before we are 3 of us.. but we can't wait until our next vacation as a family of three either!

Family Time
This past weekend Daniel and I drove to Montreal to spend some time with Nat, Mike and Madi. We had a really great time, eating some great food, just hanging out, eating some more great food, and even Auntie April was able to stop by for a bit too..!!
Can't wait to do it again soon!

God of this city!
Last Sunday night we had an outdoor service downtown, overlooking the river and Parliament etc.. It was an incredible time, the sun was out, the message was awesome.. just a fantastic experience.. and now our pastor wants to go back once a month! .. hmm... we'll see..
World Changers are in Ottawa this week so the service was kind of for them but it was great for all involved and everyone that listened. For more info on what World Changers are doing here in Ottawa, click here.
...and I know that I am very biased but the drummer was fantastic! x

Helping out - at the lake.. (its a hard life!)
Yesterday a group of us headed out early (6.30am!) to a friends parents house to help them with some DIY and general tidying up around the place. The "place" was a cottage on Clear Lake (which was very true to its name!)
They guys did some DIY, putting up dry wall, and also helped to clear out some stuff from the sheds, including the old squirrel & mice nests!
I attempted to prime the porch and some of the shed with Triscilla & Tina, but got tired pretty fast so I sat about quite a bit, and helped with lunch & dinner, and spent some time cutting out lots of squares for a quilt for the baby.
After a fantastic dinner, Daniel and I decided that we would head home to Ottawa rather than staying over as we had planned, which was just as well because we came home to find that the fairies had once again been working on the house (on a Saturday?!) and had finished the deck!!! Whoohoo.... roll on the summer BBQs and general lounging about outside!

Hmm... Chicken & Ribs
This past weekend we ventured once again downtown for the Chicken and Rib Fest - yum!
Daniel and I were walking to meet up with the crew and were talking about how much we like downtown. For the capitol city its easy to navigate, and never seems to be too crowded (with the exception of Canada Day - once was enough!!)
Here are pics of us enjoying our Chicken and Ribs:
After our feast we headed back to "the west end" for ice cream... mmm... a perfect end to such a yummy meal!
Can't wait for more summer evenings like it :D

Smile for the birdy!
Yesterday we had the great pleasure of having Brad and Rae-Anne over for lunch and as an extra bonus, Rae-Anne was there to take pictures for Daniel and I, and "the bump" :D
It was a great experience and Rae-Anne has said that she will be back for more as the baby grows.
Rae-Anne used to work at the Magenta Photo Studio in Montreal, and although we were not in one of their special studios - the pictures are fantastic. Thanks Rae-Anne!!

Today was incredible, we knew that this was really happening but seeing it on the screen was something new all together.
And it turns out this baby Bentley is a girl!!!

Go Sparty Go!!
With the Sens barely in the playoffs this year it was nice to be able to go to the rink and think of something other than how badly the Sens have played in their first couple of games. Today Daniel and went to the Sensplex for the company Spring Fling Skate.
This event has been a great event for adults and kids alike to spend some time on the ice and also spend some time with their favourite mascot..

Spartacat!!
Daniel and I both didn't actually skate, me for fear of falling and hurting both myself and baby, and Daniel - mainly I think because he didn't want to be shown up by the kids! I think that some of these kids are born with skates on!!
After the family skate with Spartacat there was a bit of a short game on the ice and then a buffet type lunch in Stanley's Restaurant. What a great way to spend a very wet and dreary Saturday morning :)
