Winterlude - The actual festival

My last post was more informing you that Winterlude had started and today winterlude actually ends. On Saturday Daniel and I ventured out - with the thousands of other people, to catch a glimpse of it just before it was gone for the year.

Click here to go to the official website for Winterlude, however, below are a few pictures that we took whilst wandering around all of the ice sculptures.

We, of course, also stopped off for the annual beavertail and hot chocolate, which after wandering around for about an hour, totally hit the spot!

Unfortunatly we didn't get any pictures of the canal, suffice to say that it was completely rammed! I don't think many people were actually skating, mainly for the pure fact that there was not enough space between people. We stayed off the ice, once every few years is enough!

Later that evening we enjoyed a fondue meal with Dave & Amanda, and even managed to squeeze in some boardgames!

Winterlude

Aparently this is what winterlude is all about... a couple of feet snow!! Winterlude started on Friday with the beginning of February and I have heard that the canal is now also ready and awaiting for any avid skaters. As if by something pre-destined a new month arrived along with a fresh dump of the white stuff... It once again makes everything look so gorgeous, clean and brand new.

These are a few pictures taken outside just a few minutes ago... When winter looks so good its hard to complain about the shovelling or cold mornings, especially when the sun is shining :)
