Country..?!??

Whilst talking to Jacqueline about the baby shower we also made plans that she would spend the night at ours on Saturday night as after the baby shower in Montreal, the Mcskimmings were off to the Matina Mcbride here in Ottawa, and then Jacqueline was flying out of Ottawa to visit friends out west.

Well it turned out that Jacqueline had an extra ticket to the show so I was invited to go along in the Cavanagh box :)

Not really being into country I was a little skeptical about going but I figured I didn't have any other plans and its not everyday you get taken to a free concert in a box so, I went along.

I have to say for someone who doesn't really like country, it was a really great show!! The opening acts were Emerson Drive & Johnny Reid.

Here are a few pics :)

On her way..

With only weeks now until baby girl Calo's expected arrival the girls decided that it was about time to have a "shower" for Nat. The shower was a surprise and thankfully she did not suspect a thing.

There were lots of really cute gifts, mostly summer girly dresses. We also played some daft games and ate lots of good snacks :)

Baby Bentley

So this post is quite a bit overdue but with work not knowing until today I have had a bit of the case of paranoias....

YES!!! Daniel and I are expecting the arrival of Baby Bentley on/around September 4th and we couldn't be more excited!!

Unfortunately we don't have any scan pics to put up just yet :( But we have had an appointment where we heard the baby's heartbeat... how cool..?!?

The only pics we do have are bump pics... so for now this will have to suffice.

This is at 12 weeks and I am now 15 weeks... Stay tuned for updates as and when :)

Long time no..words...

Having remembered that it has been quite some time since I wrote anythingon our blog I thought I'd quickly give an update - although I have no recent pictures to post - unless of course we need yet more pictures of the snow.

Most recently my friend, Amanda, and I drove to Montreal initially for the LLO show, Ruddigore, but as it turned out Amanda's cousin was going to be in Montreal too so we met up with her.

We were a little worried about the driving conditions that this weekend would have in store, forcasted 10-15 cms on Friday and between 30 -50 cms on Saturday!!, but we left around 12:30 on Friday and we we're downtown in the Old Port at about 3:00, with not a single flake to be seen!

The show on Friday night was great - as always, they did not disappoint. Of course by the time we got up, the snow had caught up with us and the car was covered but at least it was not far back to Nat and Mike's.

Saturday we had decided that we would go out for breakfast to Chez Cora's - yum!! and as soon as we were done, Amanda and I hit the highway and headed home. The drive was slow and a little hairy at some points but mostly not too bad, and the 30-50 cms didn't really begin until we were home again, but this morning we woke up to enough snow to cancel church! I guess because of the set up an tear down that is involved every week and the roads having not been plowed yet.

So.. we're housebound, surrounded by a new dump of approx 50cms of snow, watching old movies today it seems, but its kind of nice to not have to be anywhere... With this much snow, Ontario must be almost near breaking the record for the most snow in one winter!

Not much else to write for now... more updates soon hopefully...
