Merry Christmas...

We just wanted to quickly wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS. Thank you for all of the gifts that we have received, (sweaters and socks, gloves, scarfs & hats) Daniel and I are having a very quiet Christmas this year and are about to enjoy our Christmas dinner.

We hope that you are all having a safe and happy christmas and I would guess that the next time we write will be the New Year!

New Digs - Part III

Today at lunch I carefully drove over to the new house to take our first real look inside since way back when Mom and Dad bought the house. I took lots of pictures, (available upon request) however, here are just a select few.

Holy Snow!!!

Well... they warned us that it was on the way .. but when we left for Church this morning we had no idea what was about to hit us...

Today - being Sunday - we are due to have between 40-60cms.. and overnight Sunday to Monday morning they say we should get another 15-20cms...

Daniel and I are still loving it... even if the roads are infact a complete nightmare... unfortunately the pictures and video do NOT do it justice...

Anyone care to come try it for themselves..???

Here comes the snow... again...

Friday night was freeeeeezing cold and Saturday was not much better at -26 with the wind chill!! I am feeling much more in the Christmas mood now as I have done some more shopping , (stocking stuffers mainly) and on Saturday night Bethany, Amanda and I went to the Carolyn Arend christmas concert "Totally Christmas" at the Met church downtown...

Hopefully... here is a video I tried to take on Friday night of the snow... If this works I will try to take one during the day next time and replace this one... just need some more snow to film...

Emelia Kate Pearce

I know that this post is almost a week overdue.. (much like Milly herself!) but I wanted to just post a quick..
CONGRATULATIONS !!
to Holly & Kev on the safe arrival of Emelia (Milly) last Monday - the 19th of November

Congrats guys. I can't wait to see her in May!!

Dreaming of a white Christmas?

With Christmas fast approaching (4 weeks on Tusday - 30 days!!) I still did not really feel in a christmassy mood, even thought the stores seems to have their decorations up the second that we were done with Halloween...

Well this past week we had a 20-25cm dumping of snow to help to get us into the Christmas spirit, and I have to say that it has helped a little...

It also helped since last night was my works christmas party at the Hard Rock Cafe in the market downtown and although yes, we did have a christmas party in November.. the snow made it feel that little bit more special!

This Christmas for Daniel and I will be a very quiet one as Mom and Dad will be in the UK, and Nat and Mike will be visiting Mike's parents... but no doubt with the impending move lurking around the corner.. we will be kept busy packing!

New Digs - Part II

Today we went by the house to see how things have progressing since Dad was told by the builders that things were coming along better than they had hoped due to the weather...
However.. I had expected more to be done by now... but... I guess the builders know what they are doing... maybe the things they have done are not the obvious things like the brickwork and siding..?

New Digs - Part I

So my parents have bought a house in Kanata, ON, that they are hoping they will be able to move into after they get back from Germany. The house will be ready in January so in the interim period Daniel and I will be moving into it!! - I know!! great deal eh..!?!

Here are some pictures that I took recently of the house, I'm going to try to take a few pics every so often so Mom and Dad can see how it is progressing :)

So the countdown is on.... 10 weeks and counting!!!

Home Again

I know that many will already know this but Daniel and I were back in the UK last week for Daniel's sisters wedding to Haydn. Whilst we were there though we were able to catch up with many friends and some family too.

We saw my grandparents, my great friends Beth & Tim, and Kev & Holly (& bump!), Chris, Emma, Dominic, (and bump) and Clare and Mike to name a few...

Here are some of the pics from our time there. The pictures from Rhoda and Haydn's wedding I'll have to post seperately as there are SO many!!!

It was lovely to see you all and spend some time catching up :)

Being Thankful

Last weekend (yes I realise I'm a bit behind)... was Thanksgiving and this year everyone came to our place here in Ottawa. When I say everyone, I mean Mom and Dad and Nat and Mike.

Since Mom and Dad were visiting from Germany and won't be here at Christmas this year, it was nice to be able to spend this Thanksgiving dinner as a kind of substitute Christmas dinner.

Things have been crazy since Monday running about here and there with Mom and Dad, although they have just gone to spend the majority of their second week here with Nat and Mike.

This week I expect to be much like last week, busy... although Daniel and I are very much looking forward to a few weeks off work as we fly back to the UK on Friday evening (Landing Saturday morning) for Rhoda and Haydn's wedding the following Saturday - Can't wait!!

Anyways. I hope to be able to upload pics whilst we are away, however, if all is quiet on the western front for a bit... you'll know where we are..
