Putt, Putt, Putt...

Tonight a handful of kids from the youth group and some leaders went to an indoor glow in the dark mini putt place. We had a good time, some of us were trying to play properly and some of us were cheating. Overall we had a good laugh so...

Mini Putt was followed by food at Boston Pizza, it was really good but I'm stuffed now... time to sleep it off...

GO SENS GO!!!!

Last night the "Lads" decided they were going to go out to watch the hockey at Local Heros however when they got just before they dropped the puck they decided not to stay since hte place was rammed, they ended up coming back to ours to watch the Sens vs the Devils and when they walked in the door here after about 10 mins into the 1st period the Sens were already up 3-0.


I'd love to say that the Sens totally rocked but they let 3 goals in in the 2nd and then we both got one in the thrid, so although we won it wasn't the thrashing that we were hoping to give them, so hopefully we will do better tomorrow night.

I know that Brian might kill me for this picture - oh well... Sorry Brian...

"Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot"

Well after waking up to a crazy snow storm on Monday morning I am pleased to say that things in Ottawa have certainly warmed up!!


At the beginning of the week it was way below normal temperatures for this time of the year and by the end of the week the temperatures were way above normal... Yesterday and today have been amazing reaching highs of low 20's...


Its been so great and the weekend is due for some more great weather, which is great since we are helping someone move tomorrow and then we thought we would try to hit the patios downtown either tomorrow afternoon/evening or Sunday afternoon.




Can't wait... here come the flip flops!!

Words that come to mind this morning...

"WHERE DID THIS COME FROM??!?!"

Don't they know that its the middle of April, and that we have already changed our tyres back to the "All Seasons" (- not including the winter season....)

The kind of ironic thing is that the last thing that I did before I went to sleep last night was check the weather network channel and all it said was rain... does this look like rain to you?!?

Maybe I should just leave for work now...

"Yay" for fun filled weekends

This weekend was no exception to the rule when it came to fun filled weekends.

Saturday morning started as every other weekend starts in our house - Soccer - although this weekend there was only one game (thank goodness!) so the house got a clean and I got all of the laundry done and ironed then the real fun started.


On the way to Brian and Tracey's we saw the dear that we regularly see on the drive down Greenbank towards Barrhaven, they are always out at dusk and sometimes during the day.. this pic is kinda far away but it was difficult to get a good picture from far away, and in a moving car.




Otttawa was playing the 2nd game against the Pittsburg Penguins and following the spectacular game they played on wednesday night we were all pretty excited! They won I think it was 6-3 on wednesday and it was a great game. Saturday however, well... it started kinda slow, was going great in the 2nd period and then kinda all fell apart at the end of the 3rd period and the final score was 3-4 to Pittsburg. We had a good time though with friends watching the game, even if Brian (D) was cheering for the penguins cus the Habs aren't in the playoffs.



After the game it was time for the girls and guys to split off as the girls had a Luau party to go to and the guys were doing manly things... (I didn't dare ask) but I think it ended up consisting of a little bit of poker and Xbox. Anyways the girls had a great time with grass skirts (for some) cocktails, limbo dancing, even a pinata!



I tried to get some pics of the boys when we got back to Phil & Triscilla's but they were pretty much wrapped up, tired and not up for pictures.. oh well..


Sunday: Phil was preaching at church this morning and did a great job, and because he and Triscilla are heading out west next weekend to go tree planting (aparently the money is pretty good - I still wouldn't want to leave my desk and spend all summer - and winter/spring - sleeping in a tent (remember that its still only around 6 degrees right now) We had a get together with all of us and some friends of theirs as a kind of going away party. I got a few pictures but by far the cutest one was of Java!

Just passing the time...

Since moving to Canada this has by far been Phoenix's favorite past time and we think that with only more warmer weather on the way this will on be a more frequent event... oh to be a cat, eat, sleep.. chase squirrels up trees.... *sigh*

Best Foot Forward

Put your feet up and have one of the girls at The Spa Nail Bar work their magic on your feet... Thats what we did this past saturday afternoon. When I say "we" I mean, me and some girls from work decided to treat ourself to a pedicure, having never been before I was a) really excited and b) a little reluctant to let someone else touch my feet but it was completely worth it!


We were allowed to bring wine and dessert and so we took full advantage of that!



And look what pretty feet we have :)





Also yesterday - earlier on for me, all day for Daniel - we helped Tracy and Bryan paint the inside of their house before they move in on the 21st of April... we had a lot of fun, and the weather was perfect for all the windows to be open it was great!
